In the meantime. Here is your self work homework

Put the pen on the paper,

whether it be an ABC, a squiggle or a line.

Write down the words that might become a poem, prose or rhyme.

Take this time to free them from your brain.

The words flow onto the page like rain.

Put the pen on the paper and let those sentences flow.

Begin a story. Even if you never know where it will go.

This January take some time to reflect.

On things of the past and things yet to come.

Things imagined. Things not yet done.

Write them down, secure them to the page.

The moments. The happiness. Even the rage.

Soak the paper with ink. And even some tears.

As the words spill out they protect you from your fears.

Write when the sun wakes you up, and the moon puts you to bed.

Write down your thoughts and the words you never said.

Take all of January to reflect and flow.

Dig deep. Remember and let it all go.

Once you have no more words to share.

Stop. Take a breath,

Acknowledge, regroup and prepare.

Stack the pages and tie them with twine.

Store them carefully in a box, or shelf like you would a good red wine.

To be retrieved at only the right time.

Then in February you will do it again.

Sit down and pick up your pen

First breathe deep.

Clearing your head as if awakening from sleep.

You’ll notice in front of you the clean unblemished page.

February you write with clear intentions to set your stage.

Write down your wishes, hopes, and desires.

Experiences to be tasted to fuel your fires.

Start with lists. Short and sweet.

Like planning a trip. Painting a room.

Visit a friend. Buy a new broom. (I actually need one. One of those witchy bristly ones).

Things you think you should do. Maybe a few you should not.

It’s your blank page. Fill it up like a pot.

Or like a cauldron. Fill it up to the top.

Each day keep adding more then stir them around.

All this month let the words abound.

Keep the ideas coming. The wishes from within.

Let them simmer and sizzle causing sparks to fly.

In March you’ll return, you’ll untie the twine from January's set.

You’ll bring February's words with you too

And we will meet and concoct a word stew.
